Indian Visa If you are planning a trip to India for tourism, you require visas to enter India.

There are number of different type of visas available and fees vary from type of visas to the nationality you hold to how long you want visit India.

Here we will explain different visas for UK Citizen passport holders.

  1. E-Tourist visa for stay in India for 30 days singe entry and nominated airport. Once you arrive in India at the airport they will do biometric take pictures and stamp your passport for 30 days.

Procedure for this is visa you have to apply online by completing the form and uploading your Photo and Passport pay the fee of $60 plus service charge. Within 72 hours you will get an email

with confirmation of visa granted and visa number. Print the confirmation and take this with you to present at the airport immigration.

  1. Tourist visa are available for duration of one year with multiple entry into India and maximum stay of 180 days.

Procedure for tourist visa you have to complete the form online, print the form attach 2 photos. Make an appointment at your nearest VFS centre and submit the passport and completed form you will have to sign few declaration and non refund of fee forms sign and pay for the visa £102.00 plus VFS fee of £7.44 plus courier charge of £14.00 to return the passport to you.

  1. OCI you can get OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) which is a Life time visa, this is only available to those you have links with India or were from Indian passport holder before, or who have decedents from India.
    Procedure for OCI complete the form online upload photo, signature and documents like your current passport, birth certificate, proof of being Indian, if married marriage certificate..

Print the form attach two photos sign the form and make an appointment at the nearest VFS centre to submit the form once accepted pay the fee of £195.00 plus VFS service fee of £7.44 plus 2 courier charges of £14.00 each. When you submit the documents please take a copy of each document and they will keep copy and also take originals as well which will be return to you after examination except one document which will be couriered back to you within a week. Then within 2 months check the status if the documents arrived back in UK you can then print and submit your current passport to the VFS centre and you will receive your passport and OCI card normally within 7 days.
